The daily demands of daily life can all have us craving a weekend break away at a spa. But when our schedules and our bank accounts don’t always allow for that why not create your own home spa, where you can unwind, relax and pamper yourselves. It’s really not as expensive or complicated as you may think so here are our top six tips to setting up your very own home spa.

Lighting & Candles

Ambience lighting is everything when it comes to us feeling relaxed and pampered. The best way to achieve that is by avoiding any bright, overhead lighting and instead using only subtle lamps and candles. With a couple of lamps and candles around the room it will instantly transform any living space into a relaxing and indulging spa type room. Look at scented wellness candles for relaxing scents and looking for candles that also contain essential oils, especially lavender, will have you feeling relaxed in no time at all.

Fanhams Hall Hotel

 Fanhams Hall Hotel

With being busy working a lot it is hard to find time to catch up with my friends as work and home life always tends to get in the way, so with chatting to some friends we said we will make some time for a catch up and pencilled in a date and place to meet. I have just returned home from a good day with good friends at Fanhams Hall Hotel.

 Fanhams Hall Hotel
So where better than a nice hotel, we chose Fanhams hall hotel, this is in a nice location as it was local to all of us, this is a beautiful hotel located in ware Hertfordshire.
We all said we will meet at lunch time and have a nice lunch together, Fanhams hall hotel offer a picnic package where you can go and enjoy the grounds of the hotel and they put a picnic basket together for you along with some blankets.
In the picnic baskets we had all cutlery and everything needed for our picnic along with plenty of food, we had freshly baked scones with clotted cream and jam, we had a selection of finger sandwiches, and lots of picnic favourites, there was also bottles of drinks supplied, water or fresh orange juice, this was all enjoyed very much and was a lovely Sunday treat, we found the time went too quickly, we got there at lunch time and was still there at 7pm, whoops but we was having so much fun.
We all had a great time and we was very lucky with the weather, it was really nice to be able to have a catch up with good friends.
We have all said this will be needed to be done more often as we all deserve a nice break once in a while.

Fun in the sun

Fun in the sun
We woke up this morning and saw it was going to be another hot sunny day, we thought why not go for some fun in the sun in our local area, we went for a nice walk and had some fun along the way.
We are an outdoors family, always up and out at any given opportunity, we had a game of hide and seek in the woods, little did the boys know they had both hidden in the same tree, they found each other eventually, we climbed trees, or shall I say the boys did, we played ball games and then had a nice picnic.
It was nice taking in the lovely fresh air, watching the kids run around, listening to their laughter, seeing them get along together, just enjoying some quality time together, all those priceless moments.

Today is may bank holiday Monday, the sun is shining so we thought why sit in on such a beautiful day, we packed a bag and hit the countryside for a nice walk in the country, this is one of our favourite things to do, kids was running around enjoying the sun, playing football, climbing and doing what they do best, running off all their energy taking in all the fresh air and scenery, we heard the birds singing in the trees, saw beautiful butterfly’s, dogs running around fetching their ball’s, families enjoying their picnics, kids learning to ride their bikes and it was all beautiful, such a great day.
On our walk round we saw beautiful carvings

The countryside has something for everyone from a bike ride, a nice quiet stroll, a picnic, read a book, to a ball game, we find this to be one of our way’s to relax, being working parents with a hectic week at work this is a way of relaxing whilst the kids are still out getting fresh air and having fun and most of all the dog can come along too.
