Dylan being only 1.5 years old, his character is really starting to show now. He has recently been starting to express his interest of imaginative play. He has a brilliant, fun and energetic character to him.

With toddlers developing imagination and creativity through play, we have been encouraging and supporting Dylan with these skills through as many play activities as we can.

Activities Dylan has been enjoying are:

  • Reading
  • Dress-ups
  • Messy play
  • Drawing
  • Go exploring
  • Baking
  • Soft play
  • Enjoying music/dancing/singing
  • Doing sounds to animals/transport

We have been encouraging the above activities and so much more. His favorite at the moment is sound books. He loves his books and copying the sounds. We are currently teaching him his animals and sounds they make. He also loves his wheels on the bus musical book and acting out the actions to it.

By way of supporting his interests and imagination, we try and make everything fun, as we are great believers in learning through play. We recently took Dylan to the London Transport Museum Depot as his love of buses have been helping with his colours, shapes, co-ordination and learning about objects and the world around him.

Educational Day’s Out

Dylan absolutely LOVED his visit to see the trains and buses and spent his time looking closely at the wheels, lights, steering wheels etc all whilst singing the wheels on the bus song and seeing everything up close. >>Read more about Dylan’s visit on our blog here<<

We have been helping Dylan express his imagination with the help of Noah’s Ark. Learning animals and the sounds they make. You can read our review on this on our blog here<<

To help bring the animals to life and learn a more hands on experience, we took Dylan to one of our local farms. He absolutely LOVED his visit and hands on experience.

Educational Cartoons

Dylan loves to watch cartoons. He watches TV in the morning whilst having breakfast, he enjoys watching Cocomelon and singing along to the songs. He loves watching animal cartoons too and doing the animal sounds, his favorites being a cow, pig and a duck at the moment. We recently saw that a local business does visits to homes, parties etc dressed as characters. So we booked for Dylan to have a surprise visitor and help bring his cartoon to life and watch his imagination come out even more.

His imagination came straight out, he got Paw Patrol a ball as he pictures dogs as playing with a ball. He had great fun playing ball and dancing with Marshall in our garden. Cartoons really are real!

We have loads more educational fun planned with Dylan. Keep an eye on Dylan’s “All Things Dylan” tab to see what he has been up to lately whilst living his best life!
