From White Belt To Black

From white belt to black

Hello everyone, it’s me again (Bradley) sorry I been a little quiet recently but I have a good reason for that. I have been rather busy practicing/training for my black belt. I had my grading for my black belt on the 29th March and I needed to get as much practice in as possible.

Guess what, it only went and paid off, YIKES! I am now a black belt.

I have been going to Tia Sung Kung Fu Kickboxing now since I was 7 years old, this is a picture of me on my first day.

Wow look how tiny I look.

Here is a picture of me as a black belt after many years of training hard to get it.

I am feeling rather proud of myself.

I really enjoy going to Tia Sung Kung Fu Kickboxing class, it helps to keep me fit and I have made so many friends. I have entered championships where I have come third and got a bronze medal, this was great fun but extremely tiring, I certainly slept well that night that’s for sure.

I meet up sometimes with my friends from kickboxing class and we train together and help each other it is great fun. I have great support from my family they all cheer me on, some family members come along and support me on grading days if they are not busy.

Wow it feels amazing being a black belt, my best friend from Kickboxing class also got his black belt which is great as we have supported each other all the way through and we can now continue to do so.

I would like to thank everyone who has supported me and wished me luck, I wouldn’t have been able to get this far without you all, it means so much to know you are there cheering me on.

Here is to a new chapter in my life.

 Thank you

Bradley

Winters Day Outdoor Fun

A Winters Afternoon

There is nothing quite like a lovely afternoon bike ride and some winters day outdoor fun, the dinner was cooking away in the slow cooker, the kid’s had been to their sports clubs, it was cold out but dry so we thought why not get the bikes out and have a lovely afternoon bike ride.

Ian was at work so it was just me and the boy’s, we done a safety check to make sure the bike’s was safe to use as they had not been used for a while then away we went. We started off along the river looking at the boats, we then moved along stopping along the way to climb trees, feed the duck’s and just having as much fun as we possibly could on a winter’s day.

We stopped at the park and the big kid in us all came out, well how could I resist all of this fun, the park is not just for kid’s……Right?

Now To Warm Up

Following all that fun, we all needed to warm up so it was hot chocolate all round upon our return….of course you can’t have a hot chocolate without some cream on the top….A little Sunday treat!

We are a family who loves outdoor fun and the winter day’s do not stop that as you can see. We had an amazing time. Did I embarrass the kid’s in the park, yes of course but what are mum’s for, I am a fun embarrassing mum and the kid’s was too busy laughing at me to even care.

We had a fantastic day of making funny memories, we are all worn out now from our fun day, I am so pleased that I had put the dinner in the slow cooker before heading off out as we are all shattered.

After all that winter’s day outdoor fun we are now snuggled under our blankets watching a film whilst our dinner is cooking away in the slow cooker…..Perfect day!

Junior Football Leaders Award

Junior Football Leaders Award

I Done It – I Passed

I am so proud to be sharing my news with you all, as I have mentioned in my previous post, I was going to be attending the FA junior leaders training during my summer holidays. I attended the course and I really enjoyed myself, I was very nervous to begin with but I did settle rather quickly, making friends and having lots of fun. I now have the FA junior football leaders award to be able to show you all.

We started off by introducing ourselves so we all knew who was who, we was then told what was going to be happening throughout the day so we all knew what was going to be happening. The fun training soon began and the whole process of the course was relaxed and very enjoyable, we spoke about team work, skills and we was put in groups of 5 to do role play of being a referee.
We done passing, goal scoring, played all sorts of different games taking in turns of being a referee, we also done lots of talking about different situations that occur during football.
I learnt that it is a hard job to be a referee as you have to control the game and keep a very close eye on all the players, I learnt of all different types of fails and the meaning behind the red and yellow cards that the players get given.

I really enjoyed my day and have learned some new skills from attending this course and now have some knowledge of how to lead and referee a game.

This certificate marks the beginning of my football career that I have dreamed off as a football coach. I am now excited to see what my future holds for me. I am also taking PE as  one of my GCSE’s and I am also looking for other training events to attend and help me build on my training to help me achieve my dream.
