Baigio UK Waterproof Handlebar Phone Holder Review

***Disclaimer – We were sent this product for the purpose of this review. All thoughts and opinions are our own.***

Do you struggle with somewhere to store your items when out enjoying a bike ride? is your mobile phone something you are going to want to hand?

We have currently been reviewing the Baigio Selighting Bike Handlebar Bag. This handle bar phone holder has been extremely handy to have and use. It not only helps me to have my phone to hand to see who is calling me, I can use it to help direct me to destinations and see the map, It can help me listen to music and make calls.

A closer look at the Baigio Handlebar Phone Holder!

  • The Baigio is suitable for any phone under 6 inches.
  • The bag is waterproof and wear-resistant. Made of 900D nylon material.
  • You can use the phone via the transparent touchscreen cover.
  • Dimensions of the bag are: 18 x 10.5 x 11 cm – 7.1″x 4.1″x 4.3″ suitable for smartphones within 6″.
  • The bag is easy to use, it has a Velcro strap design for ease of use without the need for tools.
  • This bag is suitable for most design of bikes, such as mountain, road and even fast riding bikes.
  • Features a sun visor.
  • There is a insert section for if you wish to use wired earphones.
  • Capacity of this bag is perfect. A perfect size for storing your keys, bike tool, bank card, small snack, phone charger and any other hand held items.
  • You have a choice of colours to chose from.

Use of the phone holder

The installation on the phone holder took us seconds to attach to our bike with the ease of the Velcro straps. With the bag having a visor, we found this a great design, as it helped protect from splashes and also protection from the sun to give us much more viability. It was great to be able to have our phone to hand and to be able to use our phone through the transparent cover. Unfortunately our touch ID fingerprint doesn’t work through the cover (as expected) so we just used our pin code instead to gain full use of our phone. When setting off out on a bike ride the storage capacity allowed us to store our keys and portable phone charger, bank card and some change, along with a small snack and small bike repair items. When cycling in the rain my phone and items remained nice and protected. All items were easily accessible via the the strong double zips, even when attached to the bike. We did worry that the bag would move when cycling, but it remained perfectly in position throughout our journey.

With everything to hand and protected all that leaves now is for us to plan our next bike ride!

Simple Things to Remember When Starting a Business on a Budget

Simple Things to Remember When Starting a Business on a Budget

***Collaborative post***

Starting out in the business world is both a thrilling and exciting adventure.

The adrenaline that you get from taking the leap is one that you’ll want to hold onto. It’s easy to get caught up in the midst of it all. However, when starting on a budget, this can be when your budget goes out the window.

Whether you are on a budget or not, you’ve got to hone in and focus. The excitement is easy to get lost in, however, smart moves are well thought out ones.

Build your future business’ foundation with these simple but important things to remember:

Do Research – Take Risks

Tapping into competitor research is one of your most valuable business tools. Research is also free. Dig deep and find out all about your competitors, what they are doing, and most importantly, what they are not.

Finding the information you need takes time and patience. However, this is where you will make your best decisions and find room to take risks.

Choosing to take a risk doesn’t come from picking something random and running with it. Risks are an opportunity to learn from going down avenues that you wouldn’t normally. Research is your best tool to find them.

Use Freelancers to Your Advantage

To save on costs, work as streamline as possible. While you can’t run your business alone, you can run with a minimalistic team.

A great way to do this is to outsource projects that you don’t need to monitor with a freelancer. For easy projects, you can look for entry-level freelancers. For more advanced projects, there are professionals who will complete a task in the time it would take you to hire someone in the office.

Keep your freelancers close to you. Having regular trusted people at hand to do projects as and when you need them can accelerate your business plans.

Know Your Budget

Running businesses on a budget requires meticulous calculations; from outlining your business plan to getting your first clients in the bag. You have to know how much everything is going to cost and predict any extra expenses that might come along the way.

Start your accounting plan early. If you don’t know anything about it, take a quick course in accounting to cover the basics so that you can do it by yourself.

Monitor your incomings and outgoings and set up your retained earning statement to analyse your numbers. By doing this regularly, you can keep an eye on any leads that you might not know you had.

Be the Best

A great business idea solves a problem. Start small and be the best.

The quality of your product is measured by its ability to deliver its promises. When you start out, focus on a small number of customers and be willing to adapt to their needs. The changes that you make for your first clients could be the changes that make your business a success.

Starting a business is a steep learning curve that, when done right, has great rewards. Think smart, learn all that you can and you’ll be paving your own way to success before you know it.

Social Living: Make Your Home Ready for Guests

Social Living: Make Your Home Ready for Guests

***Collaborative post***

Your home isn’t just for you and your immediate family to enjoy. It’s also there for your friends and extended family, too. In an age when it’s more and more difficult to go out to pubs and restaurants, many of us are looking to host people in our homes — or at least, they will be in the future, when the coronavirus restrictions have been loosened a little. But of course, if you’re going to host people in your home, then you need to put some effort into making sure that it’s possible. Below, you’ll find some useful tips that’ll ensure that this is the case.

Clean and Spacious

If you’re going to invite friends around, then you can’t present a dirty and cluttered home. They’ll only figure that something is wrong with the atmosphere, even if everything else is perfect. The first step should be to make sure that everything is clean and spacious, and that your home is an all-around pleasant space to be in. If you know that you’re going to have guests around, then be sure to put in some elbow grease, and make the space spotless. It really will be appreciated by your friends and family!

Well-Stocked

Sometimes, you know that people are going to visit you. At other times, you don’t know — they just turn up. And there’s nothing wrong with that; it’s always nice to be surprised when you’re at home, providing that you’re not busy. However, you might feel a little uncomfortable if you have nothing to serve! Water is good, but it’s not a social drink, that’s for sure. You can make sure that you’re ready for whoever to turn up by having a well-stocked pantry with a selection of drinks, alcoholic and soft, so that there’s always something to serve. It’s recommended to have a few extra snacks lying around too, just in case.

Room to Relax

Take a look at your home: is it set up to receive guests? As in, is there a place where everyone can unwind and have fun together? If there’s nothing, then look at making some changes. There are a few different ways to do this. If you know you’re going to host parties in the future, then opt for the open-plan kitchen — they’re great social spaces. You should also pay attention to your outdoor space, because who wants to cooped up indoors when the sun is shining? Invest in some garden furniture from Dreamo Living, and you’ll be able to spend long hours in the outdoors with your loved one. And don’t forget to buy a BBQ too! If you have friends and family who live far away, then be sure to set up a guest room.

A Welcoming Attitude

Finally, remember that attitude is key! If you have a welcoming attitude, one that allows people to really feel at home when they’re in your house, then you’ll already be most of the way towards creating a special space for your friends and family.

4 Ways To Take Care Of Your Eyes

4 Ways To Take Care Of Your Eyes
***Collaboration***

If you want to enjoy life with your loved ones, then you should consider taking good care of your health in general. One of the least talked about aspects of health care has got to do with vision. However, it is as important as taking care of your physical health. You don’t need to bend over backward to ensure your eyes are in top-notch shape, and here are a few ways to do it.

Eat well

The diet you keep goes a long way to affect your eyesight, and it really should be more of a point of discussion. A balanced diet is recommended for general body health and fitness, but it helps to know what ingredients help your eyes. Fruits, vegetables, and fish contain nutrients that optimize their functioning. Zinc, vitamin c, omega-3 fatty acids, etc. are all very useful in reducing the risk of developing eye diseases to enhance your quality of life. So the next time you’re fixing you or your family a meal, consider ingredients that are eye-friendly as well.

Reduce screen time

Screens have been shown to reduce the quality of your eyesight. You might experience blurry vision, trouble focusing, eye strain, and dry eyes if you spend a lot of time on your phone or computer. One way to prevent that is to take 20-minute breaks from those screens when using them. If this solution is not practical due to your lifestyle, then you should consider discussing other protection options with a professional. Think about getting medicated glasses, replacing them as and when it’s required. If you’re on a budget, best way to do it is to replace only the lenses while keeping your frame.

Wear sunglasses

The sun does not only affect the skin but your eyes too. The UV rays are such that they can penetrate your eyes and cause some damage. Excessive exposure also puts you at risk of cataracts and macular degeneration. Some sunglasses are designed to block out those harmful rays of the sun. Others can be used even while driving and so there’s no excuse for your eyes to be out. If you’re not a fan of eyewear, ask about contact lenses from a professional and see which one will work best for you. Hygiene is critical when it comes to this mode of eye protection and so ask about the pros and cons before committing to it.

No smoking

In addition to the other disadvantages of smoking is the possibility of depleting eyesight. Those who smoke are more likely to damage their optic nerve and develop cataracts. This is more motivation to work harder at quitting the bad habit. It might not be easy, but the more you try, the better your chances. So think about how much you’ll be saving yourself and put in your all to kick the habit.

You’ll not know how much your eyesight contributes to your quality of life until you’re faced with an issue. So before that happens, try your best to secure your vision for as long as possible — these four tips are just a few to start with.

Top Christmas Treats

Top Christmas Treats
(AD) – This post is a paid collaborative post.

Wow December already, where has this year gone. Are you someone who is organised, or are you someone who will be shopping last minute? I am normally one for being really organised and prepared for Christmas, but this year I seem to be really behind and struggling at what to get for people.

For the first time ever, our boys don’t know what they want for Christmas. They were asked last week what they would like for Christmas? And they gave the dreaded “I don’t know answer” – I could scream when given this answer, because if they don’t know how are we meant to?

One thing that is a must in our house and is most definitely agreed on and that is all the festive treats. From the very tasty festive coffees, to all the festive goodies that make an appearance within the stores. We might not have our gift list ready yet but our shopping delivery is booked. Here are a few items that will be being added to our trolley.

Ferrero Rochers

First up that is a must and that is Ferrero Rochers. OK I may eat these all year round but these are my must have chocolate when snuggled up watching a Christmas movie. There is just something about the wafer that is covered in chocolate and then pieces of hazelnut. The best part is when you bite into the middle where you have a hazelnut flavoured creamy filling covering a whole hazelnut at the very center. Yummy!

Toblerone

Just like Ferrero Rochers these are also available all year round but seem to be a go-to chocolate too and very popular at Christmas. Toblerones are triangular shaped Swiss chocolate with honey and almond nougat. They can be found in a variety of different flavours such as, white chocolate, regular milk chocolate, fruit and nut, also not forgetting it also comes in dark chocolate too. They make a perfect gift as you can also have them personalised.

Liqueur Chocolates

Chocolate liqueur treats are a perfect treat to share at a dinner party or simply enjoying a lovely evening with friends or family. One chocolate liqueur we are looking forward to this year is Baileys chocolate twists. They are light and crispy wafers filled with a Baileys Original Irish Cream Liqueur Ganache, wrapped in delicious smooth chocolate. Chocolate Liqueurs also make the perfect Christmas gift for any liqueur lover. If you still have the odd gift to get and they are a chocolate liqueur fan then Wow Free Stuff are currently hosting a giveaway where you have the chance to win a box of chocolates. Be quick with entering as you only have until: 21st December 2019. Click >>>Here<<< find out how to be entered into the competition.

Gingerbread

Let’s talk gingerbread. We enjoy all things gingerbread at Christmas in our house, and let’s face it, we all enjoy making a gingerbread house at Christmas don’t we. What better way to spend a family night in on a cold evening. A perfect way to keep warm when out doing the Christmas shopping is enjoy a nice yummy gingerbread latte. Christmas in a cup!

Stollen Loaf

Stollen loaf is one Christmas treat I really look forward to. It is packed full of soft and juicy sultanas and raisins. It has a soft centre of rich marzipan which offers a lovely almond flavour to the rum syrup and butter-soaked loaf. Perfect accompanied with a festive drink of choice.

They are our top Christmas must-have favourite treats. Christmas wouldn’t be the same without having candy canes, mince pies and a tin of roses in our trolley to of course!

Preparation Home Gym

Preparation Home Gym

Preparation new me

At the start of 2019 I gave myself the kick up the backside well and truly needed to get myself on the right path for a new healthy lifestyle.

Since then I have not looked back. Infact I have actually been enjoying it. I sat down and a made a list of the the things I have tried in the past, things I have enjoyed and even the things I haven’t enjoyed.

Making a list really does help

Doing this list really helped me because it helped me find all my pet hates about exercising. Such as being in overcrowded exercise classes, getting embarrased about being too fat, or not being able to keep up with the class.

I also found out that having a gym membership added pressure on me to go to the gym. This then led to me not enjoying my time going if that makes sense. I felt pressured to go to get my moneys worth out of the membership rather than freely going because I wanted to.

Life can easily get in the way

It sometimes felt like life got in the way rather a lot to. I would arrange with friends to go to a class together, 20, 20, 20 class was one of my favourites. I would find that I couldn’t always go as being a working mum things happen at home or work as they do. Meaning I had to phone and cancle more than I actually went.

Gyms are not for everyone

Going to an actual gym isn’t for everybody. This could be due to time, cost or even due to feeling embarrased. For me it is mainly due to time. Finding an extra hour or so in an already busy day can prove difficult. I am currently in the process of setting up a home gym.

Home Gyms aren’t for everyone but for me I think having one would work better for me and my lifestyle.

Things to consider before setting up a home gym

Budget: It is always best to work out your finances first and see what budget you have to work with. Always shop about before purchasing as it can be easy to get carried away. Always read product reviews before purchasing so you know you are getting something good for your money.

Price check: Try and do a price check so you have a rough idea of prices so then you can plan ahead before purchasing products. Exercising equipment doesn’t come cheap but you will be wanting to get more for your money so take the time to shop around online.

Space: What space do you have for you home gym? will it be a room dedicated to set up as a gym full-time or is it going to be a shared space. This will be important to know before purchasing your equipment so you know whether to look for equipment that folds to be stored easy. Also check electricity supplies, will you need added sockets for power? extention leads can be a trip hazzard and can also be a fire risk if overloaded and not careful.

Making space: Before you start to purchase your home gym equipment always clear the space first to make sure it is clean and free from clutter to prevent any accidents when exercising. Matco are always happy to help if you need help with moving or storing anything.

Be 100% sure: If you are not 100% sure on the equipment you want or need you don’t have to purchase new, there is always the option of second hand. You can sometimes find a product that is in good as new condition for half the price. It will be a good way to find out if the equipment is right for you and the space you have without the cost of brand new.

Take your time: Take your time when building your home gym, there is no rush. Purchase one or two items at a time, get use to those items first and see if they work for you and with the space you have dedicated for your gym. If happy then build upon your home gym from there.

Motivation: Sometimes a little motivation is missed when exercising at home. There is always the option of inviting a friend or family member to join you or more if you have the space. You could even challenge each other. There is also the option of exercise dvd’s or YouTube motivation. Music can help too.

Home gyms can be just as fun and ecouraging as going to the gym whilst adding loads of flixibilty. The intial outlay may be expensive but if it helps to keep us fit and healthy I would say it is the perfect investment!
